Preferential pricing of new Ekomilk mastitis management tool for dairy farmers and veterinarians

Accurate on-farm mastitis monitoring is now possible at approx. 0.04USD/test. The consumable for the somatic cell counter "Ekomilk Scan+" is launched at factory prices for dairy cattle farmers and vets (DVM) in Canada and US.

BRUSSELS - Oct. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Brussels, Belgium and Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, Oct 12, 2015 – “Ekomilk”, via its representative for Canada, USA and other markets, is excited to announce that for the next 2 months, the reagent for Ekomilk Scan+ will be available at direct factory prices to vets (DVM), vet cabinets, dairy farmers and milk processors in Canada and USA.

Ekomilk Scan+ is the reliable Cloud-connected somatic cell counter in the Ekomilk family of milk analyzers.
This price policy for purchase orders from Canada and the United States of America effectively means that dairy livestock owners and veterinarians (DVM) can test fresh (raw) milk samples on-farm at approx. 0.04$/test.

Each Ekomilk Scan+ test gives an accurate digital somatic cell count (SCC, leukocyte count) result with 3 or 4 digits, for instance 387 kcells/ml (“k” for thousands or 10³). The average duration of a test is around 75 seconds, for a typical milk producing farm with a common mastitis incidence rate. Both clinical and subclinical mastitis cases of common pathogens can be reliably detected with the Ekomilk Scan+ method. The reagent can be stored at room temperature and keeps for many months.

The cost indications mentioned above are based on an exchange rate of 1 EUR = 1.14USD and on EXW prices (excl. transport) from the Ekomilk factory when ordering through www.mastitismonitoring.com or www.ekomilk.eu for the regions and the time period mentioned.

About mastitis and cell count (as also done by DHI for instance):

Mastitis is an inflammatory reaction of the udder tissue. It is the most common disease in dairy cattle and often a major cause of milk production losses, farm revenue losses and profit losses.

Thanks to regular somatic cell count (SCC, leukocyte count) on quarter, udder and herd level, an intramammary infection (IMI) can be detected timely, udder hygiene and udder health can be improved, milk production losses can be reduced and antibiotics can be administered more selectively while farm profits can be optimized. Milk quality, especially bulk tank somatic cell count (BTSCC) and animal health will improve considerably.

About Ekomilk milk analyzers:

Ekomilk instruments have been on the market for 19 years and have now over 100 000 users in more than 40 countries. Typically the composition (properties, ingredients, parameters) and quality of milk are measured: fats, proteins, solid-non-fats (SNF), density, added water, freezing point, lactose, pH, temperature, conductivity besides somatic cells and antibiotics. Ekomilk instruments are factory calibrated, for raw cow (bovine) milk or for goat (caprine), sheep (ovine) and buffalo milk. Specific on-demand calibrations for homogenized or pasteurized milk besides milk cream are available for certain instrument versions.

Ekomilk is a proud partner of the Cloud-based Animal Monitoring Platform.
