Sterlite Copper Promotes Household Kitchen Garden

TUTICORIN, India - Oct. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Sterlite Copper has distributed Vegetable Seed Kit to 6000 people in 19 Villages on October 12, 2015. Household Kitchen Garden in the backyard is promoted with the objectives of ensuring the nutritional security of the household, direct access to nutritionally rich food and reducing malnutrition for nutritional wellbeing.

In addition, the garden will also facilitate prevention of stagnation of water which will be a potential site for mosquito breeding, pre disposing to ill-health. As the monsoon began, a seed kit comprising of Bottle Guard, Tomato, Lady’s finger, Leafy Vegetable, Snake Guard and Cluster Beans was distributed to all families at their doorstep.

Kitchen Gardening ensures dual benefits of food and income generation and thereby looks for ‘Touching and Transforming the Lives’ of the community.
