Barker does a commendable job of interweaving the dual elements of mystery and suspense to create a fast-paced read that reveals just enough at a time to hold the reader’s interest until the very end. With a nod to the fantastical, Forsaken is a sci-fi/thriller fan’s dream come true, worthy of Barker’s literary namesake, Clive. A titillating tale sure not to disappoint.
