Longview Volkswagen Mazda Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Special Events

LONGVIEW, Texas - Oct. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Longview Volkswagen Mazda and Good Shepherd Medical Center are teaming up to raise awareness with special events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On October 17, 2015, a digital mobile mammography unit will offer free screening mammograms at Longview Volkswagen Mazda at 800 TX-31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Additionally, the dealership will donate money for each test drive and vehicle purchase made throughout the entire month of October. Through these special events, Longview Volkswagen Mazda hopes to raise awareness and donations to help this important cause.

Early Detection
Breast cancer has a very high survival rate when detected early. In fact, the five-year survival rate is over 95 percent when caught in its initial phases. Routine screenings are key to staying healthy and informed. Digital mammography is a quick screening test that has saved the lives of thousands of women every year. Women between the ages of 35 and 40 should get a screening as a baseline test, while women over 40 should get screened each year.

Digital Mobile Mammography
Good Shepherd Medical Center created the Mobile Breast Center to make mammography more accessible for everyone. This state-of-the-art vehicle is equipped with the tools needed to complete digital screenings conveniently and accurately. The Mobile Breast Center will appear at Longview Volkswagen Mazda on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 16 women who schedule an appointment will receive a digital screening mammogram completely free of charge. October Fundraising
Longview Volkswagen Mazda joins the fight against breast cancer with a month-long fundraiser. The dealership will raise money to benefit The Breast Center at Good Shepherd Medical Center, an advanced health center that provides comprehensive care of the highest quality. Longview Volkswagen Mazda will donate $25 for each test drive throughout the month. For every vehicle purchase in October, the donation increases to $100.
