About GWEI

The Global Women’s Entrepreneurship Institute  is effort program of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Global Nexus Initiative that is developed  to serve as the logistical agent for a meta network of women entrepreneurs and innovators, particularly from the Global South to connect with U.S. based women who share with them a commonality of goals, needs, and aspirations. This business and leadership development Institute is geared toward high functioning women entrepreneurs in need of mentorship, technical support and coaching to significantly improve their skills as an entrepreneur, excel in their industry, and establish significant international contacts and exposure. The program will leverage technology to facilitate business development and connectivity for participants via exposure to and implementation of products and platforms that will foster interactions and transactions within and across continents.

The first cohort of participants will come from Africa due to the strength of existing connections and programs from Africa Atlanta 2014. The pilot will then expand to include participants from other regions of the global South.
