WHAT:

A two-day technology conference (C2SV) with pundits, innovators and disruptors, followed by two nights of alternative and emerging music acts - San Jose’s answer to SxSW.

Five of the biggest names in digital media and marketing will address the upcoming Creative Convergence Silicon Valley (C2SV) festival in San Jose on October 8 and 9.

• Brian Fanzo: Livestreaming expert and voice of the millennials
• Bryan Kramer: Author of the business best seller, “Shareology”
• Jeremiah Owyang: Collaborative economy expert
• Michael Brito: Leader in personal branding and social marketing
• Robert Scoble: Digital journalist followed by millions

Other highlights of the upcoming conference:

• Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times science and technology writer John Markoff will talk about his new book “Machines of Loving Grace: The Quest for Common Ground Between Humans and Robots”
• Markoff will also interview software pioneer Philippe Kahn, who invented the cameraphone
• Jane McGonigal will speak on harnessing the power of games to solve global problems
• City of San Francisco CIO Miguel Gamiño Jr. will talk about how local governments are using technology to become more efficient, effective and transparent
• Entrepreneur Brienne Ghafourifar is one of the youngest people to ever to do a $1 million capital raise. She’ll discuss her new venture, Entefy.
• Todd Weaver will share his thoughts on reinventing personal computing with privacy as its primary objective.
