LONDON - Oct. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Tim finds a hen by the roadside. The poor bird has fallen from a truck and is in a bad shape . Tim takes the hen home with him and looks after her, but she is very confused. She cannot fly, lay eggs or cluck. So Tim gives her ‘hen’ lessons.
But nothing seems to work…
“Can she walk?” says the vet.
“Can she fly?”
“Can she at least cluck?”
“Burp!” says the hen.
The vet slowly shakes his head.

“I’m sorry. She was a nice hen once, but there’s nothing else I can do.”

Painter, fabric designer and illustrator Henk Kneepkens came up with the story of  You are a Hen! and made the wonderful illustrations. Jacques Vriens wrote the text. Together they created a very special picture book. It is a funny story and a very colourful book for children between the ages of 4 and 6. Jacques Vriens is one of the most famous children’s authors in The Netherlands. He writes for both younger and older children. His work is quite extensive: fairy tales, school stories, nursery tales, picture books, historical books and series about children growing up in hotels or on a square. Several of his books are successfully made into a film. Cool kids do not cry was a huge international success and Secrets of War was released in 2014.He is also active in promoting children to read. Until March 2015 he is the first Dutch Children’s books Ambassador.
