The IRONMAN World Championship centers on the dedication and courage exhibited by participants who demonstrate the IRONMAN mantra that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.® On October 10th, over 2,000 athletes will embark on a 140.6-mile journey that presents the ultimate test of body, mind, and spirit to earn the title of IRONMAN.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to race among the greatest IRONMEN around the world. I know that with every stroke, pedal, and step, I am getting us closer to finding a cure for myeloma and other hematologic malignancies,” said Tommy Garceau.

“We are so proud that Tommy is participating in the IRONMAN World Championship and helping raise money for IMBCR and greater awareness of these diseases. It is a tough race but we know that he will do well and his efforts will also result in helping to improve the lives of our patients,” said Dr. Berenson.

Since starting Team IMBCR in 2013, Tommy Garceau and his team have been very active in competing in numerous athletic events.  For the last two years, Team IMBCR was appointed an official charity of the ASICS LA Marathon. Tommy Garceau was proud of the fact that all 21 Team IMBCR runners who started the race finished it, both years. Team IMBCR has also been named an official charity of the 2016 Sketchers Performance LA Marathon in Los Angeles.

Garceau has also competed in and fundraised for IMBCR in Ironman 70.3 in Hawaii, the Road Runners Club of America event in San Francisco, IRONMAN Arizona, IRONMAN 70.3 in Oceanside, California,  and the 2015 IRONMAN competition in Copenhagen, Denmark.
