Turn Up The HEAT! FOSE African Fashion Week to Set Ablaze in Houston on August 21st & 22nd
TeKay Designs (Kimma Wreh) leads the pack as the headline designer for this year’s showcase. Wreh, a Liberian-born fashion designer, graduate of Howard University and fashion industry veteran, is often referred to as the “Vera Wang of African Fashion” for creating elaborate, regal and engaging bridal couture and special occasion garments for men and women, with sophisticated embroidery, enhanced detail and impeccable fine stitching. The fashion line has been internationally recognized in the past for its statement necklaces, previously worn by public figures such as popular Daytime TV host, Deborah Duncan (Great Day Houston), Singers Chante Moore and Angie Stone, and world renowned tennis professional, Serena Williams. TeKay Designs will soon make a special appearance at the Queen of the Brides fashion showcase during Tiffany’s New York Fashion Week on September 14th, 2015.

Tanya Ivory Mayes is an award-winning designer for The Ivory Collection.The Ivory Collection has been featured in fashion industry publication, WWD Magazine, and the official Dudley’s Hair Book. Tanya has also worked in wardrobe on major films and music videos throughout the country. She has artistic talents, including the ability to sketch, paint, sew, design and write.
Showtime starts promptly at 7:00 PM. Get excited for our incredible performances including – rising star musical group Blush – managed by music industry mogul, Matthew Knowles (Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child, Trinity 5:7), popular comedic trio The WoWo Boyz, Impande South African Dance Troupe, and Houston’s very own Live Out Loud. Popular DJ Silent Killa will be in the mix for the Fashion Showcase.
A portion of the proceeds from this year’s showcase will go to the Women's Foundation of Houston to support their quest to help empower women around Houston to overcome various obstacles in life.
