DELTONA, Fla. - Sept. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- It was a packed house on Sept. 30, as hundreds joined Florida Hospital Fish Memorial for a ribbon cutting and festive grand opening celebration at the Deltona Health Park.

Attendees toured the new 19,000 square-foot outpatient facility and met the health care professionals who will be providing care there.

Located on four acres at the corner of Sterling Silver Blvd. and Saxon Blvd. at 1745 Sterling Silver Blvd. in Deltona, this outpatient facility is an $11 million investment in the community’s health care. Designed by HuntonBrady Architects and constructed by Brasfield & Gorrie, this new facility brings 18 jobs to the Deltona community.

"It's been a fantastic day in Deltona," said John Masiarczyk, City of Deltona Mayor. "This facility is something we really waited for. I think the biggest advantage [of the new facility] for us in Deltona is the pediatric care. We are a middle-income, family community with more than 20,000 young people in the city that will take advantage of those services. I'm extremely happy today to see this finally come to fruition."

To bring pediatric specialists to the Deltona Health Park, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial developed a unique partnership with Florida Hospital for Children, a 200-bed children's hospital in Orlando. Through this partnership, pediatric specialists from Florida Hospital for Children – including gastroenterologists, nephrologists, and a pulmonologist specializing in sleep – can care for young patients at the Deltona Health Park, eliminating the need for families to travel out of the community for this type of specialized care. The clinic area features an ocean design theme and has a room for pediatric sleep studies.

The facility is also home to Dr. Joseph Marino, a gynecologist with more than 40 years of experience. In his new practice at the Deltona Health Park, he offers complete care for women ages 18 and older, but his special emphasis is on the mid-life woman, addressing menopause and other prevalent conditions.

In addition to bringing new physicians to the area, the Deltona Health Park also offers outpatient imaging and laboratory services.

Florida Hospital Fish Imaging relocated from the hospital’s main campus at 1055 Saxon Blvd. in Orange City to the Deltona Health Park and offers full-service imaging, including mammography, ultrasound, MRI, x-ray, 64-slice CT and more. To create a more relaxing and comforting environment, the imaging department also features a separate entrance and waiting area for men and women.

“When you look at the size of Deltona – 86,000 people – and when you look at what they currently have for medical services, it was clear to see that there is a need for additional access points for residents,” said Ed Noseworthy, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial President and CEO. “We are really excited to be here and provide this for the community.”

In addition to technology and state-of-the-art medical services, the Deltona Health Park also showcases some beautiful works of art. One of the larger more prominent pieces is a multi-colored, prismatic artwork called “Progeny,” donated by Port Orange resident and local artist Libby Ware. Valued at nearly $43,000, the 247 richly colored cube forms are on permanent display at the Deltona Health Park and “create a cohesive, sculptural group, with one color begetting another, over a 24-foot span,” Ware said.

“I am truly humbled by Libby’s generous gift,” said Noseworthy. “She is such a gifted artist and we are proud display Progeny in our Deltona Health Park. This new outpatient facility will care for so many in the community and we feel blessed to have such an uplifting piece of art on our walls, greeting patients as they arrive.”
