Follow on Google News | Nation's Capital To Welcome Over 20 Music Artists & DJs For The Charged Up Music FestivalBringing together all facets of the DMV millennial culture this October – art, music, fashion, nightlife & community service.
By: Charged Up Music Festival Two stages will play host to over 20 acts, as well as the Jack Daniels “Jackin for Beats” Rap and Producer Beat Battle, where some of the area’s best emcees and producers will battle for a chance to win a $5,000 cash prize. Confirmed performers include Grammy nominated recording artist B.o.B., Hood Rock collective Black Alley, HippieLife Krew artist Visto and more to be announced in the coming days. The fully energized experience, will also feature “Party Wars” – a pop-up outdoor nightclub curated by some of the top lifestyle brands and DJ crews in the DMV area. When discussing the concept behind the festival, SuiteLife Management founder Desmond Walker, better known by his personal moniker “Dez the Prez”, says “While we have always been a part of the local culture in DC, we set out to create an event that fully celebrates our city and our culture...our way.” Omar Kashif, founder of Alleyhouse Entertainment and co-organizer for Charged Up, adds “Charged Up is also about shining the spotlight on our local creatives and community organizations that are on the grind to bring their message and mission to the masses.” While this is the first installation of the Charged Up music festival brand, the founders have already set their sights on how to recreate the experience in cities across the nation in the years to come. Their ultimate goal is simple: to bring people together to explore culture from all dimensions: music, art, fashion, nightlife and community service. Kashif explains it best. “We party, we appreciate art in all forms and we give back to the community. We keep the culture charged up!” Tickets for the festival are now available online at www.chargedupdc.com. Advance general admission tickets are $40 and VIP tickets are $60. End
