PRLog -- San Diego…In response to a cry for a more-German focused Oktoberfest, the 42
nd Annual La Mesa Oktoberfest is back with a classic German theme.
“We’
re listening to what our customers have to say about what they want at our downtown La Mesa Oktoberfest,”
said Arlene Moore a member of the La Mesa Merchants Association. She continued, “in addition to bringing in German beer and German food, we are having a German costume contest for couples and male and female categories. Prizes will be awarded every hour both nights of the event from 4 to 9 p.m., October 2
nd and 3
rd.”
The La Mesa Boulevard Oktoberfest has been a tradition in San Diego for over 40 years. Although other Oktoberfests have popped up around San Diego over the years, it is still the most widely attended Oktoberfest in the county with over 100,000 people attending the two-day event.
“We’
re featuring handmade craft items,” stated John Vigil, executive director of the event. “You’ll also find brats, pretzels, and German bands.” He went on, “German beer lovers will be happy to know we will have authentic German beers like Paulaner and Octoberfest Marzen.”
