Andalou Naturals’ Founder and CEO and Vital Voices Global Partnership Unite for Women’s Empowerment Event: Vital Voices San Francisco 2015
Twenty years ago at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, Vital Voices founder Hillary Clinton declared: “Human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights.” On September 30th, in recognition of this historic UN gathering that changed the landscape for women worldwide, Vital Voices unites women innovators from around the world for a series of on-stage interviews, short films, and inspirational talks to cast a vision for the future with Vital Voices San Francisco 2015.
Andalou Naturals’ founder and CEO Stacey Kelly Egide, a charter member of the Vital Voices Council of the Bay Area, is co-chairing the event while offering Andalou Naturals as the evening’s benefactor. A longtime supporter of women’s rights and freedoms, Egide’s interest in sustainability extends beyond the natural products world where her company is the #1 selling facial skin care brand in the natural channel (SPINS June 2015). Egide’s time, passion and resources are devoted to promoting sustainable peace through women’s empowerment, equality and education worldwide; her work with Vital Voices is the highlight of her career - making remarkable changes in communities around the world - one woman at a time.
Andalou Naturals’ face, body and hair care products include A Path of Light™ Hand Creams, made with Organic and Fair Trade Shea Butter, which are specifically designed as a way to give back to women everywhere-one product at a time. Each year 100% of the net proceeds from A Path of Light™ Hand Creams support the next generation of young women leaders with grants to Vital Voices and SHE-CAN Scholarships. In 4 short years Andalou Naturals has donated over $500,000.
“When we launched Andalou Naturals it was with the intention to create a sustainable source of revenue for socially responsible people and projects; A Path of Light is at the intersection where entrepreneurship meets philanthropy.”
The Vital Voices San Francisco 2015 event brings together women in tech, students, entrepreneurs and artists, plus leaders like Egide, who work with Vital Voices, to advance women's economic opportunity, human rights and political leadership around the world. The evening promises to be an entertaining and compelling call to innovators and change makers alike and Andalou Naturals is a proud contributor.
“We’re thrilled to be joined by visionary companies such as Andalou Naturals, a true partner in our shared goal to empower women and girls around the world. Together, we must continue to strive for innovative solutions and celebrate extraordinary leaders,” said Alyse Nelson, president and CEO of Vital Voices. “The women on stage at Vital Voices San Francisco are breaking new ground, and we are inspired by their work to call on every global citizen to share their ideas for building a brighter, safer, more inclusive future.”
