Prior to opening Home Helpers & Direct Link of Greater Harrisburg, Brian spent 20 years helping small local businesses develop advertising strategies and Dana worked as a customer service representative and underwriter in the insurance industry – backgrounds which has helped them understand and fulfill client needs. The Sticks decided to pursue opening an in-home care business when a physician friend recommended they look into the industry. With their backgrounds in sales and customer service – as well as their personal experience with in-home care – opening their own business and having the chance to bring quality care to seniors and families in a growing market was a perfect opportunity.

Brian and Dana know what many of their clients are going through. In 1984, Dana’s mother became ill and needed around-the-clock care. Dana was instrumental in providing that care until her mom passed away in 1991. In 1995, she stepped into her caregiver shoes again when her dad was diagnosed with cancer. Brian also helped coordinate care for his mother when she was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013 and her needs fluctuated between in-home care, assisted living and full-time care.
