By: Mapledurham Community Energy The public are being invited to come along to Henley Business School on Monday 28 September 2015 to the Business Centre at 6.00 pm to hear a free talk about the scheme. The final roadshow takes place at The Frank Hutching’s Community Hall in Thatcham on Tuesday 29 September 2015 at 7.30 pm. Director Christopher Crookall-Fallon says ‘I would urge anyone interested in an ethical investment that also promises a reasonable rate of return to come along to hear how the project will work and how they can benefit.’ The team from community energy specialists Mongoose Energy, who are overseeing the project, will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have. You will also be able to pick up a Share Offer Document that gives full details of the scheme. The project, which has secured planning permission, is to be sited on the Mapledurham Estate on the Berkshire / Oxfordshire borders. The installation will take cow slurry and maize silage from the farm and turn it in to biogas which will then be burned making clean energy. It has already raised over £150K to secure deposits on machinery that is to be manufactured specifically for the venture.
