War Dogs Featured in Fiction Series

Dogs of War series showcases the history of canines in military service.

MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Sept. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Multi-published author, Frances Pauli, pays tribute to canine heroes in her Dogs of War series published by Mundania Press LLC.

Though fiction, each installment in the series spotlights a different military theater and the historical use of dogs in warfare. Book one, Vertigo, features World War One Red Cross dogs trained in Paris in 1914 for service in France and Belgium.

Book two, Demon Dogs, deals with the use of canines as sentries and mine sniffing dogs during the Korean War.

A third novel, Cry Havoc, is currently in the works, and will showcase dogs in battle during ancient times.

Other relevant canine themes in the paranormal romances, which deal with the past lives of their characters, are: dog shows, dog rescue, therapy dogs, and search and rescue animals.

Pauli launched the series in an effort to draw attention to the many and varied ways that dogs have served beside human soldiers throughout history. Her blog, wardogseries.blogspot.com also contains author notes and links to resources where more information on canine military history can be found.
