Follow on Google News | BCBank Makes Historic $1.5 Million Donation to Build Community Athletic Facility for Barbour CountyBy: BCBank It is the largest single donation ever by a community bank of this size in West Virginia. BCBank has made an additional $250,000 available in the form of a challenge grant based on a matching factor of 1:1. If all $250,000 is matched, the fund will total $2 million, which is the cost of construction. The facility, to be named BCBank Park, will include an artificial turf playing and performance field, eight-lane track, new field house, concession stand and restroom facilities. The project is to be completed by Fall 2016 for Philip Barbour High School’s first football game of the season. A check presentation was made by BCBank President and CEO, Jeffrey Goff, Friday, Sept. 18 at 9 a.m., at the Philip Barbour High School gymnasium. W.Va. Secretary of State Natalie Tennant spoke at the presentation, as well as representatives for Gov. Tomblin, Sen. Manchin and Sen. Capito. Barbour County Superintendent of Schools, Jeffrey Woofter, and Philip Barbour High School Principal, Mark Lamb, also participated in the presentation.
