Renowned Fashion House Produces Notable Event for Houston Community

HOUSTON - Sept. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- The recent gathering of Houstonians on Sunday, August 30^th at OKRA Charity Saloon for the 2^nd Annual Doctors on the Runway was comparable to New York Fashion Week! In support of a great cause, guest buzzed in anticipation to watch 18 of Houston’s Finest Doctors walk the Runway to raise funds for the Periwinkle Foundation! This Notable Event presented by Fashion House Cynique Evolué took doctors out of their element and turned them into models for a day. Doctors were prepared to walk the runway and styled by Ashley Harris of Shaprece Styling while looking model ready with hair done by International Coiffure and Level Studio Salon and makeup done by LAMIK Beauty, voted one of the most ecofriendly makeup brands by the New York Times Page Six!

“The fashion show was super fun and the highlight of my year,” stated Dr. Carlin Barnes! “I loved the pampering of getting my hair and makeup done!”

“I truly had a wonderful time,” stated Dr. Tanaka Taylor. “This is definitely an experience I will never forget!”

Attendees were truly amazed at how a restaurant could be completely transformed into a Runway Show   with front row seating for all!

“Each year the show grows in size, and this year was no exception, stated Felicia Mosley, CEO of Cynique Evolué. “Our goal is not to only turn doctors into models, but to raise funds and bring an awareness to an organization that may not be well known in the community!”

With over 100 attendees, guests were able to enjoy a night of live infused house beats by DJ Lucas Keizer, front row seating and a firsthand view of doctors and professional models from Neil Hamil, strutting the runway in original designs from Couture by Calley who’s collection has been featured in British Vogue three times; Heavenly Couture and Performing Arts Supply worn by the doctors and Sea Intention who debuted their new swim line which will be featured in an upcoming issue of MAXIM Magazine! Doctors and models weredawned in accessories from Twice Lucky Resale Houston and Shoe Bar Mobile, a shoe boutique on wheels which was parked along the entry way provided a unique backdrop for the Runway Show with photographers capturing every moment!

Cynique Evolué successfully transformed the following 18 doctors into runway models: Dr. Hari Sankaran, Dr. Linda Uhegwu, Dr. Paibel Aguayo-Hiraldo, Dr. Adeola Kosoko, Dr. Titilope Ishola, Dr. Heather Brown, Dr. Tameka Knight, Dr. Lisa Patel, Dr. Esohe Faith Ohuoba, Dr. Tanaka Taylor, Dr. Rosell Jenkins, Dr. Ike Ilochonwu, Dr. Daniel Zinn, Dr. Carlin Barnes, Dr. Jennifer Peterson, Dr. Lyndsay Andrews, Dr. Avram Bram-Mostyn and Dr. Richard P. Lion.

VIP attendees had an opportunity to check out the 2016 E350 staged by Westside Lexus, received gift bags that included tasty Bundlets from Nothing Bundt Cakes, important information on Domestic Violence from nonprofit organization Phoenix Women’s Outreach and other goodies to remember the extraordinary event!

Cynique Evolué is on track to present Doctors on the Runway in Atlanta on Thursday, October 29^th with a return to Houston for the 3^rd Annual event Sunday, January 30, 2016!

About Doctors on the Runway

Cynique Evolué established Doctors on the Runway to mobilize the fashion industry to support important causes through fashion shows and events. The artistic direction of the show highlights contemporary mash up of rodeo and couture elements all infused onto a runway. Doctors will hit the cat walk uniformed in emerging designer wear. The show was a part of Cynique Evolué Runway Series, a mélange of culture, which has been held in St. Louis, Atlanta San Francisco and Houston. Each year, the show has raised money for a children’s hospital or organization in the area in which it’s held.
