Forgot the milk again? PriceSwarm, your smart grocery assistant, fixes that

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Sept. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Available today, the PriceSwarm app resolves the common hassle of over spending and forgetting items when grocery shopping. PriceSwarm learns a user’s shopping habits and then figures out what products they use, how often they need them and what they cost. With the tap of a button, grocery shoppers can view item recommendations based on current need, deals related to those items, and grocery expenditure to date.

Users snap pictures of their grocery receipts from within the app; PriceSwarm’s “Shopping Wizard” identifies the products, prices and shopping patterns of the user. Shoppers can consult the Shopping Wizard before heading out or prior to checkout to ensure a complete shopping trip.  In addition to learning your shopping habits, PriceSwarm will track your spending and crowdsource all products and prices every time a receipt is scanned. This allows other users in the locality to search and access real-time unadvertised prices.

The founders of QM Scientific, the company behind the app, were inspired to develop PriceSwarm and the cutting-edge technology behind it to solve a consistent problem they faced during grad school. “More often that not, we would over spend on groceries only to get back home and discover we had forgotten several items we needed“ said Faris Alqadah co-founder of QM Scientific. “What sets us apart from other apps is the unique blend of personalization and crowd sourcing. PriceSwarm is currently available as an open Beta on both the App Store and Google Play; it is currently optimized for the San Francisco Bay Area, but will be expanding to other metro areas in the coming weeks.
