GACC South to Organize German American Bioenergy Conference

 
ATLANTA - Sept. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, September 21, 2015 – The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. (GACC South) is pleased to announce the German American Bioenergy Conference. At this conference, participants will meet industry leaders to discuss the updates of the bioenergy sector in Germany and the USA. The focus of the event is to facilitate dialogue and provide examples of best practices, highlight local projects, and discuss challenges and possible solutions.

The following experts from the bioenergy industry will speak at the event:

Dr. Peter Heck, CEO of the Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (IfaS), as well as GAIATECH Consult, both of which focus on environmental management. Additionally, Dr. Heck is a professor at the Birkenfeld Environmental Campus of the University of Applied Sciences Trier, where he teaches material flow management.
Risher A. Willard is the Chief of Marketing & Utilization for the Georgia Forestry Commission, which provides marketing and technical services such as bioenergy and carbon offset projects, ecosystem services evaluations, and forest certification training to existing and potential forest products industries.
Dr. Jacek Siry is a professor of Forest Economics at the University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. His research includes timber market modeling, international forestry and conservation, forest management efficiency, and multiple-use natural resource management.
Stephen E. O’Day is a partner at the law firm Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP and head of the firm’s Environmental Law and Sustainability Practices, which include environmental and natural resources law, sustainability practice, and energy law. Further, Mr. O’day serves on the board of the Green Chamber of the South Foundation.

The Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Detlev Ruenger, will give the opening remarks.
