Broadcasters Club of Florida launches new season October 9th at SaraBay Club
CBS veteran Sam Roberts will be the opening speaker as the Broadcasters Club of Florida begins its luncheon “season” on Friday, Oct 9, at the SaraBay Golf Club in Sarasota, FL.
SARASOTA, Fla. - Sept. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- CBS veteran Sam Roberts will be the opening speaker as the Broadcasters Club of Florida begins its luncheon “season” on Friday, Oct 9, at the SaraBay Golf Club in Sarasota, FL. Roberts will discuss the decline in the quality of news reporting and the benefits and the problems caused by advances in technology.
Roberts had a 32-year career with CBS News as a reporter, producer & executive, including 14 years on the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. He later became Vice President and General Manager, Television, of the New York Times Electronic Media Company.
From 1999 until his retirement in 2008, he was a Professor in the School of Communication at the University of Miami, training the next generation of Broadcast Journalists.
In Sarasota he will conduct fall, winter and spring courses on media issues under the Pierian Spring Academy umbrella at Argosy University.
The luncheons begin at 11:30am and the events conclude by 1:30pm. Parking is free. You do not need to be a member of the Broadcasters Club of Florida to attend its luncheons.
Luncheon Price is $20 per person for dues paid club members and students.
Guests and non-members are $25 per person.
