New Strategy Game to Improve Mental Processes

Broadstories has announced its debut game, “The Legends of Wolf River,” for PC.

Dive into a world of fantasy and adventure in the strategic RPG for the new generation! This action-packed, fighting RPG is sure to test you in more ways than one! Beasts attack villages for apparently no reason, and Max is determined to save his world. With his sister at his side, nothing can stop him! Until his sister falls ill, that is. Alone, Max must build his team and fight to find the answers. But, will he like what he finds?

In this turn-based, isometric game, the story drives the action along. You take on the role of a fighter, ranger, beastmaster, and mage as they try to complete puzzling levels and play to their strengths. Max, the fighter, has short-ranged attack, but long-ranged movement. Azurine, the ranger, has long-ranged attacks. Leif, the beastmaster, can control or weaken enemies. Hemming, the mage, has powerful magical attacks to destroy enemies. There is a catch. Collectible cards change the battlefield and rules of play. With trap cards, status-changing cards, cards that improve or worsen abilities, cards which call to the gods for help, and cards which change the physical aspect of the screen, as well as many more, you must decide which is best to use. But don’t forget, the enemies have cards, too, and can very well trick you, trap them, or weaken them. Is it better to weaken yourself, but gain more experience and rarer cards at the end? Or should you take all the strength you can get to smash all the enemies in seconds?

With so much to focus on, so many strategies employed--from positioning the characters correctly, using the correct cards to pass the level with the best outcome, following a story line, controlling enemies, and having multiple types of attacks, the mind is engaged. The effects of chess are well-known. This game is a working strategy game with an interactive board that you carry around in your pocket. Improve your strategy and complex problem solving in just a few levels.

As you advance, the story becomes more complex, driven with an entire novel behind it. Secrets are revealed, friendships are tried, and death abounds. Can you help save the world before it’s too late?
