Los Angeles Movie Awards Gives Best Editing Nod to Legend of the Mantamaji: Live Action Short

Two-Time NAACP Image Award nominated TV director Eric Dean Seaton lands industry support for indie short film based on graphic novel series Legend of the Mantamaji

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sept. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- The Los Angeles Movie Awards(LAMA) recently released its 2015 list of winners and prolific TV director Eric Dean Seaton’s short film, Legend of the Mantamaji: Live Action Short [YouTube.com/AndActioEnt], is among the honorees. The superhero short film received a Best Editing Award and Honorable Mention from the group.

"I am so humbled and honored to be recognized by the Los Angeles Movie Awards," Seaton said. “It was a dream come true to bring the graphic novel series to life on the big screen. The fan support has been tremendous and now to be recognized by peers is outstanding.”

The Los Angeles Movie Awards screening of 2015 winners takes place Saturday, September 19, 2015. At the screening, Legend of the Mantamaji has a chance to win another award - the Audience Choice Award- which is based on votes of those in attendance. Past LAMA winners include Sandra Oh, Ron Howard and Samuel Jackson.

Legend of the Mantamaji Live Action Short is six minutes of high flying superhero action directed by Eric Dean Seaton and based on the critically-acclaimed graphic novel trilogy Legend of the Mantamaji. When a masked gang known as the New World Knights plan an attack on New York City, only a mystical warrior known as a Mantamaji can stand in the way. His powers are untested and he's outgunned. Can he survive his first big challenge?

Legend of the Mantamaji tells the story of Elijah Alexander, an Assistant D.A. who learns his childhood storybook legends are actually the true stories of a race of mystical knights known as the Mantamaji. Realizing he is one of the last Mantamaji to walk the Earth, Elijah struggles with with his powers and responsibility -- ridding the world of an ancient evil no other Mantamaji has ever been able to defeat. The full-color, action packed series has hair-raising plot twists and smart storytelling for all superhero fans.

As a two-time NAACP Image Award-nominated episodic director, Eric Dean Seaton has directed over 200 television episodes of 38 different hit TV series, including NBC/Warner Bros. comedy "Undateable," TBS's "Ground Floor," BET's "Let's Stay Together," Disney's "Austin & Ally" and Nickelodeon's "Bella and the Bulldogs." He has also directed 18 music videos and two pilots for Nickelodeon, as well as two pilots for Disney XD.

Seaton is also the creator, writer and publisher of the Legend of the Mantamaji graphic novel trilogy and director of the Legend of the Mantamaji Live Action Short. The series, published by "And...
