A California dealership finds joy in giving away used cars. Social Media is about building relationships not jamming car specials down a customer's throat. Next marks the spot as a High Desert Toyota dealership offer car number 10 in about a year.

VICTORVILLE, Calif. - Sept. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- With its 10th car giveaway in about a year, one local Toyota dealership continues to give back to the community through social media and invites local businesses to contribute prizes.

Since the contest’s inception in early 2014, Valley Hi Toyota is now on its 10th giveaway of a used car to one lucky Facebook winner. To celebrate giveaway number 10, dubbed “NeXt marks the spot,” the Victorville dealership encouraged local High Desert businesses to offer prizes as well.

To qualify, all contestants have to do is submit their email address on their contest Facebook page. Participants are then given the option to share the giveaway on social media for additional entries. Local business prizes will be randomly awarded leading up to the grand prize- a used car from Valley Hi Toyota!

“This was a perfect opportunity to get fellow High Desert businesses involved. We partnered with businesses that were more than happy to give away food, coffee, souvenirs, car accessories, training, both human and dog, and more!” says Brian Ortega, Media Marketing Manager for Valley Hi Toyota. “By having fellow businesses partake, the word will spread where another lucky person will win a car. Perhaps to use as a second vehicle, a car for their teenager, or, in other cases, their primary mode of transportation.

Winners are always appreciative and state how much needed the vehicles are in their lives at that exact moment. We’re positive car number 10 will be a major blessing in someone’s life.”

Social media has taken advertising by storm. Valley Hi Toyota has an active core of followers always engaging in posts. Used Car X will be no different. Even announcing the contest becomes an event [VIDEO]. The active hashtag on Twitter and Instagram will be #Iwant2BX, meaning “I want to be number 10.”



The giveaway started as an idea by General Manager Todd Stokes, who saw it as a unique way to connect on social media, but more as a way to give back to the loyal community that keeps them going. Contest vehicles are trade-ins that the dealership reconditions, just as they would be prepared for sale. They’re used cars, but they're new to the winners.

“Our focus has been and will always be about community and customer satisfaction,” comments Stokes. “We took a break from the giveaway for a while and we are asked if we’re going to bring it back. How can I say no our fans and follwers? Everyone 18 and over with a valid CA drivers license is eligible, but all of our winners have been local, and that makes it special.”

In addition to the giveaway, the dealership also uses its social media presence to offer fun prizes, giveaways, contests, and information to new and loyal customers.
