LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Sept. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Avony Publishing, LLC today announced the publication of “The Death and Life of Mal Evans,” a novel that brings the Beatles back together in an alternate world.

The book, written by music blogger and Gwinnett County resident Peter Lee, centers on the life of Mal Evans, considered by many to be the famed “Fifth Beatle.” The former Beatles assistant, near death from a gunshot wound in 1976, gets a chance to relive a crucial moment when the Beatles began to break up in 1969, and change musical history.

“I’ve always asked myself, ‘What if the Beatles had stayed together during the 1970s?’” Lee says. “The Beatles released some wonderful solo works during that time, but a Beatles album made up of those songs would have been phenomenal.”

In the alternate reality Evans creates, these Beatle albums do get created, but not without some difficulty. John and Paul are constantly arguing, George is second guessing his work, and Ringo has trouble living up to the Beatle name. And during this time, Evans is constantly running from Death, which is trying to ruin his dream.

Since 2008, Lee has maintained a music blog, Hooks and Harmony, dedicated to pop music and 80s music. This is his first novel.
