TORRANCE, Calif. - Sept. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- September 14, 2015 – The L.A. Wolves FC (14-0-1) scored a solid 6-1 victory over the visiting Long Beach City FC (7-6-2) as the two clubs meet Saturday nightat Toyota Sports Complex in Torrance, Ca. in a UPSL (www.upslsoccer.com) Western Conference league match. With the win, the L.A. Wolves stayed on top of the Western Conference in first place, remaining undefeated for the season.

The L.A. Wolves started the first half with some good ball movement and created several goal scoring chances for forwards Luis Mora and Tarzan Fernandez who had some hard luck finding the net early on. In the 19’ minute of play, L.A. Wolves Goalkeeper Kifi Kalani made a big save off a penalty kick that was awarded to Long Beach for a dangerous play from Kalani, which certainly could have been a game changer in terms of game momentum. Finally, in the 25’ minute of play, LA Wolves Midfielder Paulo Cardozo put the Wolves on the board with a nice shot from the top of the box beating the Long Beach keeper. Cardozo would strike again once before the half in the 35’ minute, with a nice individual effort making it 2-0 which is where both teams would go in at halftime.

After a halftime discussion, the Wolves came out for the second half with an attitude of attack and threw a bit more intensity into the match. The Wolves pushed and that paid off in the 61’ minute off a nice counter attack as L.A. Wolves Midfielder Paulo Cardozo again gave the Wolves a 3-0 lead on a nice low shot from the middle of the box beating the Long Beach keeper for his third goal of the night. Shortly thereafter, Wolves Midfielder Duncan Capriotti calmely finished a through ball from teammate Gonzo Sanguelo for one on one break making it 4-0. To close out the game, L.A. Wolves Forward Tarzan Fernandez netted the final two goals giving the Wolves a 6-0 score line is where the match would end.

Yan Skwara President/GM of the L.A. Wolves FC said. “This was a good match for us tonight as we had a break in play last weekend so we needed to get back into the groove from a playing standpoint. The boys moved the ball well overall and worked to get the win. We must now prepare for our Admiral Cup Match against Valley United this Sunday as this will be a good test for the boys as Valley United is a tough squad who will give us a fight.
