McGladrey Lends a Helping Hand Through Sixth Annual Volunteer Day

CHICAGO - Sept. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- McGladrey, the nation’s leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, recently held its sixth annual McGladrey Volunteer Day. More than 2,600 employees and clients joined forces through more than 170 volunteer activities across the country to give back to their local communities.

McGladrey employees and clients teamed up with more than 100 organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest Food Bank, Project Sunshine, Junior Achievement and many more. Volunteers participated in activities such as home construction, mentoring, playing games and doing crafts with kids, cleaning and painting indoor and outdoor facilities, sorting food and clothing donations and helping with grounds clean up and gardening.

“McGladrey has a rich tradition of stewardship, which has been one of our firm’s core values since its inception nearly 90 years ago” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO of McGladrey. “We encourage our employees to support the communities where they live and work through Volunteer Day and other McGladrey-sponsored events. This year we were pleased to amplify the gift of our employees’ time with grants to eligible charitable organizations through our McGladrey Foundation Dollars for Doers program. ”

In May, McGladrey (http://www.mcgladrey.com/) announced the launch of its charitable foundation. The foundation is focused on building tomorrow’s middle market leaders by supporting programs focused on education and organizations serving youth in the areas of hunger, housing and health in the communities where McGladrey employees live and work. The foundation’s new Dollars for Doers program, allows McGladrey Volunteer Day participants who volunteer at eligible nonprofit organizations to apply for financial donations (grants) for those nonprofits – resulting in even more value for the community.
