Hamburg Trading House Technical Seminar a Success

Sept. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Hamburg Trading House management is more than pleased to note that the increase of seminar participants by 100% is clear indication that the need to be more meticulous when it comes to marine lubricants and testing is becoming more pronounced. The turn-out of participants might have been affected by the success of a similar seminar hosted by Hamburg Trading House last year.

Conducted September 8 at the Sheraton Hotel, Mall of the Emirates, the five-hour seminar opened with a short introduction of Hamburg Trading House and different kinds of Shell Marine products. It then went on to explain how the company and Shell Marine products complement each other because of their identical persistence to strictly follow the rules. They also elaborated their respective reasons for being compliant in following these rules citing increased productivity and safer operations as among their reasons.

Also imparted are the following seminar highlights which tackled issues relevant to the marine industry: where crude oil to lubricants and greases come from and what happens in the refinery and blending plant; the lubricants and greases in the marine industry and their applications; the different kinds of Environmental Acceptable Lubricants Rules and Regulations and where these are applicable; ECAs, low sulphur fuel oil and the need of low BN cylinder oil; why oil analysis is important, how to take samples and how to interpret results; and, what on-board test kits are and how to use them.

The participants were overwhelmed and were very satisfied with the new information and knowledge that they have learned from the seminar. All of them were thankful to Hamburg Trading House for having organized said seminar and for providing an avenue where the attendees could know more about different technical issues in the marine industry.

Invited speakers who discussed these topics were a group of experts who range from purchase officers, superintendents and technical managers who are not only knowledgeable but also very experienced in dealing with different kinds of marine lubricants and greases. Also imparting their expertise was the Shell Team which offered assistance during the technical arrangements.

All in attendance were very participative during the whole activity. They did not only sit down and listen – they also asked questions and were engaged in lively discussions. The speakers were more than credible to answer all queries and were very happy to have been able to share their expertise.

Capping the day, the participants, <a href="http://hamburgtradinghouse.com/">Hamburg Trading House</a> and the speakers shared a sumptuous buffet while taking the opportunity to network products and services among their fellows in the marine industry.
