PROVO, Utah - Sept. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- The countdown is on to the 3rd annual Underfunded Film Festival in Provo, Utah. The highly anticipated festival returns October 6th, 2015 with new films, special guests, industry connections, epic workshops, and the who’s who of the Utah Film Community. With just three weeks to go, UFF offers a sneak peak of what audiences can expect from this year’s festival including its first ten confirmed films, industry highlights, and event programming.

The Underfunded Film Festival combines a domestic and international film competition with a focus on films with micro to small budgets. Featuring innovative submissions from around the world and opportunities to mingle with the filmmakers who created them. This year’s festival features a solid line up of premiers, shorts, and feature films all with a unique collaboration from the true independent filmmaker. “This film festival is proof that you don’t need a Hollywood budget to make a great film.” Matthew Long, Festival Director said. “We give our participants exposure and the opportunity to progress as a filmmaker. Winners will have a chance to screen their project at the prestigious #IndieLounge during the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.”

While the final line-up of titles is not complete, filmmakers still have until September 15th to submit their entries. This year's titles cast a wide net in terms of subject matter and the festival’s workshops will complement the film programming by addressing key challenges and opportunities facing the industry currently. “The films we've received this year include a diverse range of casts and characters.” Matthew Long added. “I look forward to seeing first time directors and seasoned veterans find new ways of connecting with audiences and I am so proud to make UFF their conduit for sharing their stories.”

There is still time to participate in the Underfunded Film Festival by contacting Carrie Teasdale at 801-592-1177. About UFF
The Underfunded Film Festival is a not-for-profit film festival established in 2013 to promote independent filmmakers and encourage them to produce high-quality, professional films on limited budgets. We believe that high-quality films don’t necessarily require massive Hollywood budgets. Additionally, all of the proceeds from the festival go to A Child’s Hope Foundation, a charity that gives aid to orphanages in places like Mexico and Haiti. Many of the organizers of this film festival have participated in volunteer service trips to Mexico with A Child’s Hope Foundation and wish to aid in helping children in need around the world.
