NAMSS PASS™ Surpasses 500 Participating Facilities

WASHINGTON - Sept. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- The National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) is excited to announce its online database, NAMSS PASS™, has reached a milestone of 500 participating facilities.  NAMSS PASS is a comprehensive, centralized, primary source database where Medical Services Professionals (MSPs)—both NAMSS members and non-members—can search, access, and review affiliation history for the practitioners they are credentialing.  Since launching in 2013, the online database has served as a way to unify the medical services community and provide them the necessary tools to be successful, efficient, and effective in their organizations.

With this record number of participating facilities, NAMSS PASS continues to be a valuable resource for the industry.

“We are excited about the support and activation of NAMSS PASS by the medical services industry.  The strength of the tool lies in the number of actively involved facilities. The more our industry works together, providing affiliation history information from their own facilities, the better data we have to make educated decisions during the credentialing process,” stated Linda Waldorf, NAMSS President.

NAMSS PASS is an important step towards providing safe, quality patient care.  With access to nationwide data, NAMSS PASS establishes a national definition of “good standing” and streamlines sharing of affiliation history and “good standing” letters.

“As the gateway to patient safety, MSPs serve as the first point of contact in the approval process.  It is important for us to be able to verify our staff’s past quickly and accurately.  NAMSS PASS allows us to do our due diligence, while still being cost and time efficient,” said Connie Riedel, Chair of the NAMSS PASS Task Force.

NAMSS will celebrate this milestone at its upcoming 39^th Educational Conference and Exhibition, October 3 -7 in Seattle, WA.  The organization will be presenting its new Visionary Innovators 500 Award (VI500 Award) to the MSPs who have been instrumental in the decision to have their healthcare organization participate in NAMSS PASS.
