93 DAYS; A True Story of Nigeria’s Battle Against Ebola Unveils Cast

LAGOS, Nigeria - Sept. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- 93 Days is a movie based on the true-life story of men and women who risked their lives and made sacrifices to save the citizens of Nigeria from the consequences of the outbreak of the highly dreaded Ebola Virus Disease.

The movie demonstrates the bravery of the Doctors at First Consultant Hospital and the brave people of the Federal Government and Lagos State Ministry of health from their encounter with the late American-Liberian, Patrick Sawyer who was the index case of the Ebola Virus Disease in ensuring that the right medical procedures were in place to stop the spread of the disease in the country. During the period of 93 days, they not only prevented a national catastrophe but also left a permanent mark on the society and solidified their legacy as courageous Nigerians amid continuous support from the Ford Foundation, TY Danjuma Foundation, Nigeria Breweries Limited, Fahrenheit, Wapic Insurance and the Eko Signature Suites and other organisations.

The potential to overcome many of life’s challenges, beat incredible odds and come out a survivor is in us all. 93 Days provides the opportunity to learn from the story of the survivors through the importance of a positive state of mind, a strong will and the determination to live.

By celebrating these icons, we are celebrating our own potential to stand for what is right, serve selflessly and make a difference in our world.

The movie is a perfect blend of both local and international casts to ensure excellence and international exposure. Hollywood actor, Danny Glover who has blockbuster movies to his credit is on board to play the role of Dr Benjamin Ohiare. Ace actress Bimbo Akintola plays the heroine- late Stella Adadevoh Ameyo. Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey plays Patrick Sawyer while the role of Dr Ada Igonoh will be played by Somkele Iyamah Idhalama. Bimbo Manuel, Charles Okafor, Gideon Okeke and a host of other movie stars are expected to feature in the movie. The screenplay for 93Days is written by Paul S. Rowlston and directed by Steve Gukas.

The Producers of the feature film is Pemon Rami, a renowned American Theatre and Filmmaker and the Director of African American Museum in Chicago, whose many credits include; THE BLUE BROTHERS and OF BOYS AND MEN, Bolanle Austen-Peters founder of Terra kulture and The BAP Productions; makers of the Award winning SARO, The musical, Dotun  Olakunri who co-produced A PLACE IN THE STARSand Steve Gukas a seasoned Screen Director whose recent movie A PLACE IN THE STARS won Best Movie Drama at the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2015 and also Directed the popularly acclaimed movie in the 90’s KEEPING FAITH.

93 Days is being shot by a highly talented crew with members from Nigeria, South Africa, UK and the United States of America. Principal photography commenced August and is expected to be completed October 5th 2015.
