At LIW 2015(Leisure Industry Week at the NEC,Birmingham on 22nd and 23rd September), Rubicon Sports, will be launching the XPT. The XPT is 'The Ultimate Training Partner'. This Power Rack combines the desired benefits of free weights with the safety of machine weights by including a ‘Patented’ Quad Lock Braking system’ with a ‘Unique Linear guided Barbell’. The barbell is incorporated into the rack but unlike a Smith Machine it enables vertical, horizontal, diagonal, lateral and rotational bar movement and this engages all muscle groups as in Free Weight Training. The ‘Patented’ Quad Lock Braking system incorporates two levers on the bar. These are closed by the hands as they grip the bar and when breaking is required, simply opening the hand automatically releases the lever and engages four solid steel locking pins, catching and stopping the bar in any position.

The XPT was designed by Brady Poppinga, a Super Bowl winner with the Green Bay Packers, to enhance his own top end speed ,power and explosiveness at the end of his career. He used it very effectively to do Jump Squats amongst many explosive movements and found he reduced his 40yd sprint times even after he was 30 years old. This had the effect of prolonging his career by a few years.

For the Health club market it is just the right machine for the free weight area. As well as being able to enjoy the benefits of explosive movements, the gym owner need no longer worry about the safety aspects associated with free weight training, confident/secure in the knowledge that the XPT has the Patented Quad Lock Braking system.
