Follow on Google News | NJ Youth Transition to Adulthood with Choices, Challenges, and ChangesBy: FSOEC Veny, however, is much more than his drumming. He has something in common with one out of four people in the U.S. “I struggle with a variety mental health challenges on a daily basis,” said Veny. “I’ve struggled with mental health challenges ever since I was a young child. I’m sure that my transition to adulthood was much more difficult because of this.” Veny enjoys working with at risk youth, especially those who struggle with emotional, behavioral, mental health, substance use, intellectual and developmental challenges. “They are my people,” says Veny. “I see myself in every single one that I meet.” Veny is the founder of http://www.TransformingStigma.com. He’s also an international youth and children’s mental health speaker that shares his past and current struggles with youth, parents, professionals, and schools. His goal is to help as many people as possible feel a sense of a hope, offers practical steps that people can take to get help and educate families on the elements of their loved one's mental health challenges. Veny is available for speaking engagements and interactive drumming events. He was the keynote speaker at the New Jersey Governor’s Council on Mental Health Stigma 2015 Ambassador Awards. His next event is the 2015 Family Support Organization of Essex County Youth Conference. The theme is Preparing for Adult Life: Choices, Challenges, and Changes.
