From a blighted area revitalized into a prime urban space, Millennium Park was groomed from the iconic Grant Park near the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Its prime reality is the Jay Pritzer Pavilion, a futuristic bandshell designed by Frank Gehry.  The pavilion houses seating for 4000, plus accommodating up to 7000 at lawn seating.  The Great Lawn also features a sophisticated sound system that seeks to replicate concert hall acoustics.

Another newly iconic fixture is the "Cloud Gate" structure, known as "The Bean" to Chicagoans.
A three-story glistening steel structure, designed by Anish Kapoor.  Inspiration was of liquid mercury as highly reflective of the downtown city scape amid AT+T Plaza.

Also visit the stunning Crown Fountain, known for its interactive digital display of spouting streams from puckered pouts.  Designed by Jaume Plensa and constructed by Kreuck + Sexton Architects.  Its composition features a striking black granite reflecting pool between two monolithic glass towers.
