Zov Announces Oc “sneak Peek” Of Upcoming James Beard House Dinner Sept 17

         Chef/restaurateur Zov Karamardian and her culinary director, Louie Jocson, will host a “sneak peek” of the 6-course dinner they will be preparing at the prestigious James Beard House, at Zov’s Bistro in Tustin, on Thursday, September 17 at 6 p.m.

         The Orange County preview will mirror the menu planned for New York.  Guests will be welcomed with several tasters including Lamb Kofta Lollipops, Red Lentil Cakes with onion and garlic, Salmon Kibbe Naye, and Kalamata Shrimp Salad with capers, shallots, fresh herbs and watermelon radishes.

         The dinner will feature Sea Scallop Crudo; Jidori Chicken Meatballs in a savory broth with rice and spices; Chermoula spiced-rubbed Salmon served over lentil rice, pickled onion, shaved fennel & lebni; Lamb Shoulder; and Banana Brulee with caramelized bananas & custard in a salted cardamom butter crust topped with vanilla bean whipped cream & caramel sauce for dessert.  Each course will include a wine pairing.  Cost is $95 pp, plus tax and gratuity.   For local tickets or more information visit www.Zovs.com/zovs-events.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling (714) 838-8855 Ex 21.

         This is the 3rd time Karamardian has accepted the invitation to prepare dinner in the kitchen of the James Beard House, which is situated in a famous Greenwich Village brownstone.  Other notable & world-renowned chefs who have accepted the honor include Nobu Matsuhisa, Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse.

         Since opening her first restaurant in 1987, Zov has become one of the best-loved chefs in Southern California.
