LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. - Aug. 31, 2015 - PRLog -- The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, will host the 3rd Annual Flashes of Gold Fundraiser at Riverview Country Club on September 17, 2015. The event is in memory of a local Easton boy, David Heard, who asked his family to keep raising money to conquer childhood cancers.  Flashes of Gold will be held from 6pm to 9pm with a pre-event VIP for children in treatment or remission and their siblings as well as bereaved siblings from 4pm to 5:30pm hosted by Sweet & Sassy.  Riverview Country Club is located at 1 Riverview Place, Easton, PA 18040. All proceeds from Flashes of Gold will benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Flashes of Gold is the brainchild of Elaine Zelker, Elaine Zelker Photography and Kristine Ortiz, KLO Events.  These two local business owners started this event to help support a dear friend who lost her son to childhood cancer.  Proceeds from the event support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and specifically the David’s Warrior Fund, named in honor of local Easton resident, David Heard.  David was 8 when he was diagnosed with Stage IV, high risk neuroblastoma – a cancer of the nervous system.  By 10 years old he was dying from the disease but through it all he had HOPE because of advancements in treatment that the St. Baldrick’s Foundation was funding.

Flashes of Gold will feature the special VIP red carpet event, raffles, face painting, photo booth, kid and adult friendly treats, and a cash bar.  The evening will include an update from the Heard family on research funded in their son’s name, and on the support provided by St. Baldrick’s to area children battling cancer. All participants are encouraged to wear something gold or yellow in honor of pediatric cancer.

Tickets are $15 in advance and at the door for $20.  Raffle tickets available for purchase at the event.  Cash or checks are preferred but credit cards will be processed.  All proceeds benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation.  For more information about Flashes of Gold, contact Marissa Lewicki of KLO Events, 610-923-9300 or marissa@klo-events.com.

About St. Baldrick’s Foundation
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. St. Baldrick’s coordinates its signature head-shaving events worldwide where participants collect pledges to shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer, raising money to fund research. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has awarded more than $176 million to support lifesaving research, making the Foundation the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. Over $1.4 million has gone directly to pediatric cancer hospitals in Eastern, PA.  St. Baldrick’s funds are granted to some of the most brilliant childhood cancer research experts in the world and to younger professionals who will be the experts of tomorrow.
