Sterlite Scholarship Distribution Ceremony 2015

THOOTHUKKUDI, India - Aug. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Sterlite Copper has conducted Sterlite Scholarship Distribution Ceremony 2015 in the company premises on 22^nd August, 2015. An amount of Rs. 4.20 Lakh was presented to the 75 students during the event as higher educational scholarship. Mr Pankaj Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Sterlite Copper presented the scholarship to the students.

Sterlite has provided meritorious scholarship to the children of the employees and service providers of 10th and 12th standard who secured 90% and above in the board exams for the academic year 2014 - 15.

Scholarship has also been provided to the needy students from nearby community. This is done to enable higher education for the economically backward households. The beneficiaries include students from school education to students studying MBBS, BE, B.Com, B.Sc. and CA.

As part of the community welfare initiatives, Sterlite supports students to pursue higher education every year. Sterlite’s other initiatives to promote education include presenting Scholastic Excellence Awards to district toppers, Ilam Mottukal Project for 6840 girl students in 77 schools to reduce school drop outs and improving infrastructure in schools.

Sterlite Copper Officials Mr D Dhanavel, AVP - Commercial, Mr Suresh Bose, AVP - HR, Capt. Sonica Muraleedharan, AGM - HR and Dr R Kailasam, Head CSR & Chief Medical Officer were also present for the event.
