The seminar shall cover topics on workplace discrimination, minimum wage, leave benefits, workers compensation, among others. Free snacks and refreshment will be served. “Working people in America have certain basic legal rights to safe, healthy and fair conditions at work.”, said Carolina Nolasco, APWC’s Volunteer Coordinator. “Knowing our rights in the workplace is one thing, but knowing what to do next is another. The seminar shall provide concrete steps to protect workers rights and provide resources for legal counseling.” The seminar forms part of APWC’s Workforce Development Program that aims to equip domestic violence survivors with new work related skillsets, education, training and resources needed to enter the workforce and achieve economic independence.
