Centre Technologies Honors First Winners of Debut Technology Scholarship

HOUSTON - Aug. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Houston, TX – August 26, 2015– Centre Technologies, a Houston-based enterprise IT solutions provider, announced the winners of the first annual Kathy Pace Technology Scholarship this week. The scholarship, which started accepting applications in spring 2015, awarded the grand prize of $5,000 to Aaron Higgins, an undergraduate senior at the University of Houston pursuing a BBA in Management Information Systems and a BBA in Supply Chain Management.

“I am extremely honored and grateful for this award,” said Aaron. “After graduation, I plan to pay it forward since there are so many deserving students out there who just need an opportunity.”

Centre Technologies also awarded prizes to three other applicants: Lizette Flores, Jason Spreen, and Emily Thompson. The winners were selected from a pool of applicants which included high school students, undergraduates, and graduate students throughout Texas and Louisiana.

Current CEO of Centre Technologies, Chris Pace, launched the scholarship in honor of his later mother, Kathy Pace, who lost the battle against cancer in late 2013. The scholarship honors the spirit of a woman who believed in supporting the community with kindness, creativity, and innovation.

This scholarship will be open for 2016 applications starting in early September 2015. High school seniors and college students pursing a degree in a technology-related field in a Texas or Louisiana college are encouraged to apply at www.kathypacescholarship.com.
