Aug. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- National Educators to Stop Trafficking (NEST) is pleased to announce that Kyong Yim will be the new Coordinator and join the advisory committee of seven to vet curriculum and resources pertinent to fulfilling the vision of getting human trafficking prevention curriculum into every school in America. "Kyong comes highly qualified to serve NEST in this capacity and we are honored to have her be a part," states Yvonne Williams, former coordinator for NEST.

Kyong Yim is a National Board Certified educator with over 12 years of experience in public schools and holds a BA in Psychology and MA in Education. In her field she has extensive experience in training educators on the issues of equity and cultural competency.

NEST will be celebrating its third anniversary in September. Beginning the next year with Kyong at the helm and with her experience navigating the educational system, the advisory committee believes she is a perfect fit to build on the foundation that we have built and to help move the mission forward.

She travels internationally to be a voice for the voiceless and also to provide humanitarian support to third world countries in dire need. Her passion to help people in need directed her to Cambodia in 2014 with Steps of Justice (YWAM). There she led English classes for children living in slums and also walked the red light district in Phnom Penh, engaging with girls and women enslaved in sexual exploitation. In October 2014, she traveled to Kyakitanga Uganda with HEED (Help Equip Evangelize Disciple) as a professional development trainer to train educators in a school. This November 2015, she will travel to Pattaya Thailand with Not Abandoned to walk the walking street to engage and connect with those trapped in prostitution and human trafficking.

Kyong is also involved with local organizations at the city and county level to help combat sexual exploitation. She serves in various levels to bring human trafficking awareness into schools and the community. As a passionate educator she speaks with students about staying safe on a daily basis and educates families on human trafficking awareness and prevention.
