Hilton Head Island Resident Appointed Managing Director of Sea Islands Society

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Aug. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Today, the Islands Society announced that Cheryl Walsh has been appointed the Managing Director of the Sea Islands Society.

“As a resident of Hilton Head Island, I am thrilled to be named the Director of the Sea Islands Society,” says Cheryl Walsh. “I look forward to the opportunity to work with others in our local community to inspire and empower the residents of the barrier islands of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.”

“In the coming months, the Sea Islands Society will be launching a number of new initiatives, including the 2016-2017 Sea Islands NexGen Artists and the 2016-2017 South Carolina Security Scholars,” adds Walsh. “I believe that it is incredibly important that more local residents – particularly women, next generation leaders, and members of the Gullah community – are recognized as global thought leaders. And, I truly believe that programs like these will provide the residents of the barrier islands of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina with a platform to do just that.”
