Follow on Google News | Wax Poetic L.A. Launches New Poetry Readings & Open Mic Nights for PoetsLocal poets will get a chance to perform original poetry live every 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month beginning August 29th in West Los Angeles.
"We want to give local Los Angeles poets another platform to perform and receive feedback on their work," said Michael P Naughton, co-producer of Wax Poetic L.A.. "So if you think you can 'Wax Poetic' we want you to join us and share in the experience." The event space is limited, so early registration is recommended. The fee is $10 if you reserve your seat or $15 at the door. Wax Poetic L.A. cannot ensure walk-ins will be allowed admittance, so they recommend that poets sign up early. Everyone who attends will have an opportunity to participate. Poems are limited to 3 minutes. Doors open at 9:00 p.m. and there will be no waiting in line, simply present your proof of payment for entry. The venue is located at 954 Gayley Ave.. Los Angeles, CA 90024. The Improv Space in Westwood. There is metered street parking all around the area that is free after 8 p.m. There is a parking lot located south of the theater on Gayley that runs behind the theater ($10 flat rate). There is also an adjacent lot located at 1030 Gayley (cross street: Weyburn) also $10 flat rate. Wax Poetic L.A. is produced in association with 13 Hands Publications and is hosted by Michael P.
