Katrina Manning Announces Candidacy For City of Hawthorne City Council

HAWTHORNE, Calif. - Aug. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Proud resident, wife, mother, small-business owner and community leader for The City of Hawthorne announces her running for City Council from her lovely home in the heart of Hawthorne, California. Katrina Manning stated in her announcement, “This campaign is about our future. By focusing on Public Safety, Economic/Job development and strengthening our schools, we can make Hawthorne a model city. I want to be your voice in achieving these goals and by electing me to the Hawthorne City Council this November 3, 2015, you can make sure that we will have a seat at the table as decision-makers.”

Manning’s experience runs deep through past and present positions such as: Commissioner of the City of Hawthorne Parks and Recreation, Board of Directors for the California Association of Parks and Recreation Commissioners, member of Hawthorne’s Economic Development Committee, President of the Holly Park Homeowners Association and Democratic Delegate of The State of California for the 62^nd District.

Recognition of her platform has not only gained her nominations and titles, it has awarded her with support from several agencies in Los Angeles County. The City of Hawthorne honored Katrina as “Citizen of The Year.” In addition, Manning was nominated “Democrat of the Year” by The Los Angeles County Democratic Party. The Los Angeles Sparks named Katrina Manning as “Ambassador” in 2015.

Her stand focuses on the citizens of the city and their most pressing concerns. Manning speaks up for the community and pushes petitions to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Hawthorne. Most notable accomplishments for her advocacy of Holly Park were new benches, tables and signage, which were approved and installed in 2014. In addition, a petition for Cimarron Elementary Safety Valet Program, which was approved by city council and installed in 2013. Lastly, under her leadership as Holly Park’s President, speed bumps were installed on 116th & Casmir in 2013.
