SAN FRANCISCO - Aug. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Thanks to a generous grant from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Fostering Media Connections has launched a new version of its online news publication, The Chronicle of Social Change (http://www.chronicleofsocialchange.org).

The Chronicle of Social Change has transformed the conversation around our most vulnerable children and youth,” said Rita Soronen, president and CEO of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.  “Under Daniel Heimpel’s leadership, the media, policymakers, child welfare professionals and concerned citizens and communities are now expertly informed about the issues and challenges, ultimately driving toward critical change. We are honored to have supported this important tool.”

A national online publication, The Chronicle of Social Change is dedicated to highlighting solutions to the myriad issues facing vulnerable children, youth and their families. Stories published in The Chronicle are distributed to mainstream and alternative media outlets to drive attention, public will and policy change toward improving the systems that serve children and their families.

“We are thrilled that the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has invested in The Chronicle,” said Daniel Heimpel, executive director of Fostering Media Connections. “Solution-based coverage of the endemic and seemingly intractable issues that face our most vulnerable children has the power to change the trajectory of human life. The Chronicle is our most potent vehicle for telling these important stories.”

The new site features a crisp, updated look with a redesigned layout and navigation bar. The ‘Opinion’ and ‘Analysis’ sections have been separated, and the ‘Money and Business’ section has been relabeled ‘Subscriber Content’ in an effort to clarify the site’s offerings for readers.

The subscriber content continues to feature expert analysis of current and emerging trends in the field as well as a rich database of government and private foundation funding leads and funder profiles.

In response to reader feedback, the new site offers a monthly subscription payment option in addition to the yearly plan.

Other key new features include an easier-to-use mobile version, a comprehensive events calendar, and a new ‘In Depth’ section where inter-related series of articles are housed.
