Cavignac & Associates Hires Attorney Heather Stone as Agency’s Human Resources Risk Advisor

SAN DIEGO - Aug. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Heather Stone, attorney at law, has been hired by Cavignac & Associates to serve as its human resources risk advisor, announced Jeffrey W. Cavignac, CPCU, ARM, RPLU, president and principal of the San Diego-based risk management and commercial insurance brokerage firm.

         Stone brings to Cavignac & Associates more than 10 years of related experience.  In her new position, she will be responsible for providing human resources consulting and other such services to the agency’s clients.  Among other things, she will help clients develop and implement best human resources practices; provide training and education to managers, supervisors and employees; and offer consulting services concerning all aspects of the employment life cycle.

         Before joining Cavignac & Associates, Stone worked as an employment attorney at Pettit Kohn Ingrassia & Lutz PC in San Diego, where she specialized in employment litigation and provided employment law advice and counseling to the firm’s clients.  Her prior legal experience includes working in San Diego as a business and employment attorney for Solomon Ward Seidenwurm & Smith LLP, and as a business litigation attorney for DLA Piper LLP.

         Stone received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, and her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University.   She is a frequent guest speaker on the topics of sexual harassment and disability rights in the workplace.

         Stone is also active in her community.  She is the president-elect of MADCAPS (Mothers and Daughters Club Assisting Philanthropies), and serves on the Long-Range Planning Committee for Kids Included Together, an organization that she has served for the last seven years, including two years as its board president.  She is a former trustee of the San Diego Law Library Justice Foundation and was a barrister with the Wallace Inn of Court for two years.  She is a devoted advocate for individuals with disabilities.

         Born in Wisconsin and raised in Southern California, Stone currently lives in the San Diego community of Point Loma with her husband, Rodney, and their two children:  Natalie and Katie.  In her free time, she can be found rowing with the masters team at ZLAC Women’s Rowing Club in Pacific Beach.
