Newly Launched E-commerce Site Witnesses Dramatic Increase in Business During First Year

Bangladesh to Benefit from Sophisticated Site due to Increased Demand in Online Shopping

DHAKA, Bangladesh - Aug. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Branoo.com launched its e-commerce site in Bangladesh in September 2014 and has witnessed a successful first year with 11,000 current customers and an average 3,500 taka per invoice.

The company’s founder, Rajib Roy, had some negative experiences with other e-commerce sites and knew he could do better. “The idea mainly comes from my wife, she and I discussed a lot about how to do it in Bangladesh,” say Roy. “We have seen some world class e-commerce service here in Dubai. We always wanted to provide our customers the same feel which we experience here in Dubai while buying the products online.”

The company launched with branded perfumes and cosmetic products and in one year has expanded into one of the largest online stores for the original branded products with Jamdani and Tangailsharees, designer sharees, designer dresses, T-shirts for men, leather products, exclusive jewelries, watches, handicrafts and paintings. The company is working on further product expansion with its focus on quality.

The e-commerce market in Bangladesh is expanding rapidly with 24 percent of the population with Internet access and approximately 70 percent of its population or 30 years or younger. In addition, 80 percent of sales are generated on mobile devices. This demand provided the perfect opportunity to launch a more sophisticated e-commerce site in Bangladesh and complete with online giants such as Amazon.

Branoo has a local and foreign market. It directly imports product from for its local market and export Bangladeshi local products, especially Jamadanisharee, Tangailsharee, handicrafts and leather goods. Branoo is currently exporting to approximately 63 countries of the world and recently signed a MOU with Aramex to deliver their products to local as well as international markets. Being a visionary, Rajib Roy has expanded the horizon of Branoo even outside the Bangladesh.

Branoo follows an Amazon or Flipkart model of product inventory which ensure customers receive quality products and timely delivery. Branoo also has its own unique packaging system. This is the first of its own kind in Bangladesh and customers love the box. It’s hard, safe and colourful just like Branoo’s theme and motto. This differentiates from all other e-commerce sites in Bangladesh.

Several investors are currently showing interest for investment in Branoo. This is a very important step for the growth of the e-commerce sector of Bangladesh.

Rajib Roy is the owner and partner of four companies in Dubai and Bangladesh. Royex Technologies, which serves the local web and software development in Bangladesh oversees the technical aspects of Branoo. Roy’s technical experience attributes to the design and functionality of Branoo’s website for a better customer experience. Branoo plans to launch its mobile app on Sept. 1, 2015, their first year anniversary.

Future endeavors include a loyalty program for its members where each purchase will lead to points for discounts on future purchases.

Branoo is opening a wholesale business in UAE and Oman initially and has obtained an office in UAE with an Export-Import license. Wholesale people of UAE/Oman can order product in bulk from Bangladesh and the payment can made in UAE. More countries have access to Branoo Wholesale in the near future.
