"I HAVE WHAT?" Cancer Research Book Benefit, Sunday Sept. 13- Four Seasons, Beverly Hills
Compelling anthology of blood cancer patient and doctor stories, by Debra Berenson, wife of internationally regarded multiple myeloma specialist James Berenson MD., launches with cancer research benefit luncheon Sunday, September 13th.
Over the years, Debra has developed close relationships with many of her husband’s patients, connecting to their emotional paths. She has now created a book to support a patient’s journey using candid stories from patients as well as medical experts in the field.
“My plan was to create an easy-to-understand book for patients and their families—it is earth-shattering to hear that you are diagnosed with cancer,” said Berenson. “I thought it would be cathartic for patients who have these medical conditions to write down and share what they have endured and believed that it would also be helpful and informative to patients and their families and friends. In addition, doctors who specialize in the problems that arise from these diseases have also contributed their expertise,” she continued. “But, this book is really about strength, hope, and the will to survive.”
