From Online Garden Community to Offline Garden Tourism: Maryland Woman Fosters Cultural Appreciation through International Garden TravelCarolyn Mullet, garden designer and beloved host to over 1.1 million garden-loving Facebook fans, combines a passion for plants and people to create boutique
travel experiences. These tours cultivate an appreciation for gardens and their historical and cultural contexts. By: CarexTours This approach, known initially as the “Dutch Wave” and more recently as the “New Perennialist” Mr. Oudolf has conducted much of his plant experimentation in his personal garden in Hummelo. A special visit is featured on the upcoming eight-day Garden Tour to the Netherlands and Germany hosted by Maryland-based garden designer, Carolyn Mullet. The tour features over 18 Dutch and German gardens that exemplify the evolution of this naturalistic planting style. Participants can sign up to join the tour through August 17 at: www.carexdesign.com/ Mullet, an award-winning designer with 30 years’ experience, is widely known for her popular Facebook community of 1.1 million global garden enthusiasts. She offers this tour as the finale to her first season as a tour host and is delighted that her digital community-building efforts are translating to offline adventures with fellow garden lovers. To Mullet, the benefits of forming a global garden community offset the often-isolating work of garden design. “Gardens bring people together,” she says, "and I greatly enjoy being a part of that. Through Facebook, I’ve developed new professional connections and friendships with people who share my passion for plants and design. CarexTours is the next step in nurturing these connections. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my time than visiting gardens with other people who love gardens as much as I do.” Contact Carolyn Mullet camullet@gmail.com 240-429-0889 Photos: https://www.prlog.org/ https://www.prlog.org/ https://www.prlog.org/ End
