LAFOLLETTE, Tenn. - Aug. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- There is a reason their are a gazillion books on the market called “(Insert word here) For Dummies”.  Some people legitimately do not know how to change a light bulb.  They may not be dumb per se, but just a light bulb changing dummy.  The books are funny and catchy, and were created to help normal smart people in every day areas of life where their mom or dad fell short in the teaching department.  However, I have yet to come across “Shrink Wrapping For Dummies”.   I mean, think about it.  It sounds terrifying.  It looks easy, but the thought of actually shrink wrapping something sends me back to a scene from Honey We Shrunk Ourselves.  Knowing me, I would end up covered in a plastic mess by the end of a project like this without any direction.

Not to worry my faithful readers.  I am here to save the day and give you a little lesson on how to apply shrink wrap bags to your precious meats, treats, and sweets. (I am secretly a poet and didn’t even know it!)  First things first, head to PackagingSupplies.com to order everything you will need before the Shrink Wrap Challenge.  Choose between 11 sizes of shrink wrap bags in quantities of 100, 250, and 500.  Not to worry, if you don’t have 250 chicken breasts to freeze I am sure that Uncle Sam could use a few bags himself for after his next hunting trip.  You will also need to get your hands on a heat sealer and a heat gun which can also be found on the site.  Order before 1PM EST and the items will all be shipped out the same day.  You are welcome for that tip.

Once you have all of your materials, measure your items you are wrapping and choose a bag that is slightly larger than the item.  Place the item in the bag, leaving a border around it. Do not worry about trying to squeeze all of the air out, because you will do this at the very end.  Next, grab the heat sealer and place the bag in between seal bars, then press and release.  Do this around all sides of the border you created.  Last, but not least, it is time for the fun part.  Use the heat gun to allow the shrink wrap to conform perfectly to your item.  There you go! You just created a tamper-proof item that is ready for storing or shipping.  And the good news is, you are no longer considered a dummy when it comes to applying shrink wrap bags.
