An Appetite for Art : Caribbean Flavor Celebration in Boynton Beach August 27

AN APPETITE FOR ART, a Helping the Hungry Summer Foodie/Artist Series, will present a Caribbean Celebration at the Secret Garden Café in Boynton Beach. Proceeds will benefit Community Caring Center Boynton Beach Hunger Programs.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Aug. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- The August 27 event, which requires reservations, will feature live music by local favorites One Plus One Band (George and Marion Frega,) and an art exhibit by Harriet Flashenberg, noted glass artist, who will be present. The appetizers and dinner will be created by Chef Lynn Dorsey. Chef Lynn is originally from Lafayette, Louisiana and the former owner of Magick In Your Kitchen. She and her family reside in Boynton Beach. Although Chef Lynn is an amazing chef with just about anything she prepares. She prefers organic, vegan and vegetarian. Her native Louisiana cuisine is spectacular, as is the Caribbean cuisine she is preparing for this meal.

ARTIST

Harriet R. Flashenberg is from Brooklyn, NY. She attended Salem State University and has a Masters in Early Childhood Education. The Artist Reception begins on the 27th at 5 PM with wine and appetizers. Ms. Flashenberg will present her fused glass art pieces for view and also purchase. The majority of her pieces can be worn and range from $35 to $70.  Consignment pieces can be created and projects range from $1,000 to $7,000.

MUSICIANS

Individually & collectively George and Marion have shared the stage with such Oldies acts as The Platters, Joey Dee and the Starlighters, Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge, the Five Satins and other stars such as Jack Jones, Vic Damone, Barry Manilow, Howie Mandel and Clint Holmes. One of the highlights of their career was performing for His Serene Highness Prince Rainer and Prince Albert of Monaco, who at the time were vacationing in Florida.

The event is designed to match local artists with the talented chefs from the Secret Garden's Incubator Program within a theme that showcases their talent. Proceeds to benefit CCC's Hunger Programs
